7135 / Linear
Linear (generally 7135 based) drivers are great for when your input and output voltage are closely matched, but you want to be able to limit current and have some level of regulation. For example, to run an XM-L2 from a single lithium-ion cell at 3A, a 7135 based driver is typically the best solution.
